When I thought about pushing my limits after my bungee jump, Highground Zipflyer in Pokhara seemed like the perfect next challenge — a chance to feel what it’s like to not just jump off a cliff, but to fly through the sky above one of the world’s most breathtaking landscapes. HighGround Adventures
What Makes Highground Zipflyer Special
Highground Zipflyer — operated by HighGround Adventures in Pokhara — isn’t just any zipline. It’s known for being one of the world’s steepest and most thrilling zipline experiences, stretching roughly 1.8 km with a dramatic 600 meter vertical drop. Riders can reach speeds of over 100 km/h while gliding through the air with panoramic views of the Himalayas, lush valleys, and the Pokhara landscape below. Expedia+1

My Zipline Experience: From Excitement to Awe
I remember the morning clearly. After the pure thrill of my bungee jump, I thought ziplining would be easier. But standing at the launch point — pinnacle of Sarangkot hill — I felt a new kind of nervous energy.
The breeze was cool, the mountain range stretched endlessly in the distance, and below me — a sweeping embrace of valley, rivers, and forests. Even before I clipped in, my heart raced with excitement and a healthy dose of fear.
Because unlike the bungee’s vertical drop, this was a flight — a fast, sweeping glide through the air where there’s no turning back once you step off the platform.
The Moment I Took Off
Wearing the harness, knowing the cable stretched for almost 2 kilometers ahead of me, I took a deep breath — and went for it. The world blurred as I shot forward, wind rushing past and the valley sprawling beneath my feet.
At first, it felt like I was falling sideways — a rush of butterflies and adrenaline. But within seconds, awe took over. The speed, the view, the sensation of gliding like a bird over jagged peaks and serene landscapes — it was one of the most exhilarating feelings I’ve ever had.
For those 90 seconds or so, I wasn’t just seeing Pokhara from above — I was part of it. The mountains weren’t distant giants, they were giants welcoming me into their sky. Tripadvisor
After the Ride
When I reached the end, my legs tingled, and my heart was pounding — but the smile on my face said it all. That moment of flying wasn’t just about thrill. It was about seeing fear transform into something breathtaking. The exhilaration of the ride was followed by an immense sense of achievement and joy — a reminder that sometimes the best views come from the moments when we push ourselves beyond comfort.
That day, Highground Zipflyer didn’t just let me fly through the skies of Nepal — it made me feel alive in a way few experiences ever have.
