Our journey to Nepal was not just another trip—it was seven days of adventure, courage, friendship, and shared experiences. We were a group of five: me, my wife, Sabbir, Nawshin, and Maria. Sabbir and Nawshin were a couple, while Nawshin and Maria were close friends of my wife. Together, we formed a group that balanced excitement, support, and laughter perfectly.
To explore Nepal freely and comfortably, we hired a Mahindra Scorpio for the entire 7-day journey, which became our moving home across mountains, highways, and cities.
Our route took us through Ghandruk, Pokhara, Kathmandu, and even a thrilling day tour to Sukute—each destination offering a different side of Nepal.
Ghandruk: Earning the View, One Step at a Time
Our mountain adventure led us to Ghandruk, a beautiful Himalayan village known for its traditional houses and breathtaking views.
Reaching Ghandruk required over an hour of trekking up steep mountain stairways. Step by step, we climbed—sometimes out of breath, sometimes laughing, sometimes silently pushing ourselves forward. It was physically demanding, but deeply rewarding.
Standing at the top, surrounded by mountains and fresh air, we realized something simple yet powerful: the best views come after effort.
Pokhara: Facing Fear and Flying Free
From the mountains, we traveled to Pokhara, where serenity and adrenaline exist side by side.
Pokhara was where I faced two of my biggest fears.
I did bungee jumping, standing at the edge with my heart racing before letting go completely. That single jump felt like conquering fear itself.
Soon after, I did the zipline, flying across the valley with endless mountains around me. Fear faded into joy, and hesitation turned into laughter.
Evenings in Pokhara were calm—lakeside walks, shared meals, and long conversations that brought our group closer together.
Sukute: A Day of Rapids and Rush (Short Stop)
During our journey, we also took a short day tour to Sukute, where we experienced white-water rafting on the Bhote Koshi River.
It was intense, energetic, and full of adrenaline—cold water, fast rapids, loud cheers, and nonstop excitement. Though brief, the rafting experience added another adventurous layer to our Nepal trip and perfectly complemented our mountain and sky-high experiences.
(This experience deserves its own story—and it has one.)
Kathmandu: Culture, Chaos, and Comfort
Our final destination was Kathmandu, a city rich in history and constant motion.
Kathmandu felt alive—busy streets, ancient temples, prayer flags, and a rhythm unlike anywhere else. We spent time shopping, exploring local markets, and picking up souvenirs that reminded us of the journey we had shared.
After days filled with adventure, Kathmandu gave us space to slow down, reflect, and enjoy the last moments of our trip together.
The Road That Held It All Together
One of the most underrated parts of our Nepal journey was the road itself. Traveling across cities and mountains in our Mahindra Scorpio brought us closer—music playing, snacks being shared, conversations flowing, and laughter filling the car.
Those hours on the road connected every destination—and every memory.
